2011 Plans

A few more days to go and the year is about to end. This realization came about after I've updated my previous post. I was lucky to hit four out of my five goals for the year 2010. Yahoo!!! And so, what should my plans be for 2011?

To start of, I promised my mother that I'll be taking her and my daughter out of the country. So it only means that I have to save, save, save for that extravagant trip! *sweating*

I also wanted to get an Australian visa and go there by April or December of the same year. I wanted to test the waters first, for three months-- maybe and see if the Aussie way of life is for me-- or us. *fingers-crossed*

And since I was able to achieve one of my goals this year-- which is to move-out from the house where me and my family lives together-- I hope to get lucky this time with investing permanently on a house for me and my daughter.

I also wanted to BUY a car-- whether a brand new car or second hand one, I don't care as long as it is in good running condition. Why?! I don't want to develop wrinkles. How are wrinkles connected to getting myself a car? Every time I get refused by cab drivers, being short-tempered that I am-- I easily get m-a-d with them! I am still not used to this "norm"... I just don't see the point as to why they have to take out their cab on the road, drive around the metro, stop at one of the hailing passengers then refuse to give them a ride because of the traffic. DUH!!! It's a waste of gas. Plus it's part of their job and it's not the passenger's fault if it's traffic on the way to where they're heading to! $0#@*)%^!

Ooops, going back to the topic...

Another wish is that I hope that my online business will be more prosperous than it was this year-- for if this happens, I'll be able to take the whole family to Boracay (Mama's request *gulp*). Another extravagant plan BUT what's important is that I'll be making all of my family members' super happy!

Are these all? I'm not yet done... I am still thinking of few more things to add. But as of this moment, these are my top priorities with which I am praying God grants me... and I hope He will soon give me a life partner, too! *grin*

I thought of re-visiting my blog and was surprise to have realized that I got to accomplished at least 3 out of 5 goals I made a year ago. That's still not bad after all! I congratulate myself for turning my goals into reality and thus, I'm inspired to think of something big BUT achievable for the coming year-- 2011.

There were some bumps and humps along the way but still I was able to achieved them.

... OF course with God's help, I know I couldn't have turned these goals into reality... and I am so grateful to you, Dear Lord! So help me again-- everyday, every month, every week of next year!

Just wanted to share this for I can't contain my excitement anymore...

Make that FOUR out of Five goals... we'll (me and my daughter) be moving out by first week of January 2011. God is really good all the time! He will not provide what is not needed. And if it's meant for you, He will give it at the right time.

First Quarter 2010

I haven't been blogging for several months now... l-a-z-y me!

A lot has happened since the last time I blogged. I got another work from home stint which is being managed by a Filipino but unfortunately, I resigned because of stress and negativity brought about by my co-worker. So much for power-trippers, please.

Then before the year ended, I found another person who made me feel special-- but then the relationship didn't last that long for it wasn't right from the very start. So much for my bruised heart... but I still I hope that someday, God will lead me to the right person at the right time.

As for the money problems I've had last year, this year my finances are well-- well in the sense that it's enough to compensate our basic needs. Not only that, I've got a good small business running.

I think the only good thing that happened at the start of this year was I was able to fulfill my plan to go out of the country with my daughter.

... hmm, so at least my first quarter wasn't that bad after all.

My Plans for 2010

Since I can't sleep... let me take the opportunity to blog some more. After all, it is not everyday that I have free time to do my personal online stuff-- err... except Farmville, hehe.

Starting next year, I plan to:
>February is my daughter's birth month so I wanted to take her to her dreamworld Disneyland Hong Kong and be with her Mickey Mouse. ✔
>Move-out from my family and have a place of our "own"... I needed so much privacy.✔
>I want to go back to school and finish my course. Anyway, two and a half years will just fly by without me noticing it. X
>Come July, I want to go to either Kuala Lumpur or Singapore.✔ (I went to 3 countries-- not just one and will still be going out, *hopefully*-- with two more out-of-the-country trips before the year ends)
>Go out of town whenever it is possible. Unleash the "wanderer" in me.✔

And so to make this happen, I have to work hard, hard, hard so that I can earn more, more, more.

Can't Sleep

I hate it... been awake for 2 hours and what pains me is that I can't sleep on a day wherein I don't have extra work. Well, my body clock's used to this sleeping pattern already. It's not healthy but what can I do? I can't afford to sleep as of the moment... after being "penny-less" for the past 3 months, I grabbed every task placed on my tray. After all, I have so many plans for the coming year. And if I don't work, then I can't make my plans turn into reality.

So what will I do now? Hayzzz...

Just because I wanna travel next year... I had to get a side job aside from my present regular online job. Not that I'm complaining but currently, I don't have time for farmville (lol)... just kidding. What I mean to say was I don't have enough time to sleep because I have to think of the pending tasks that I have to accomplish for my other client.

I am very happy to have lots of opportunities to earn extra but it can be mind-draining, too! Well as they say-- No pain, no gain!

Very familiar, huh! Why of course it's one of the hit songs of Michael Jackson (r.i.p). But this is not about him nor his song. It's actually about my former co-worker's situation, same one that I am in currently.

I'm a member of a female forum and I happen to discover that she was also a member of it. In this forum, the member has the option to link their membership on their personal web stuff such as their blog or the social networking group they belong to. So I opened her blog and read her entries. All the while I thought her relationship with her SD (what this stands for??? figure it out, lol) was OK. But it wasn't and we're almost in the same boat.

It's just so sad that a lot of mothers today have become "single parent" because it was not their choice but because of their ex-partner's negligence. I don't wanna sound sexist here but I'm just wondering-- how come guys find it so easy to leave their responsibilities and get back to their bachelorhood? Don't they ever care for their kids? Tsk.

I admit I am having a hard time moving on until now. And maybe this is God's way of telling me not to be afraid with my decision to be happy and just stick to it. I don't want to write down any more details with regards to my previous dilemma (but you can do back-reading of my blog entries and get some background) for I'm sick and tired of making the world know how stupid I was (oops I forgot, -- or maybe slight, lols nth time).

At long last I finally had time to change my blog's design. It looks better now with it's new look (in my opinion). However, I wasn't able to save the settings of my old design. The links are now missing and I have to do them all over again. Oh well, I'm taking it as a blessing in disguise for I'll be able to refresh my so-called mediocre designing skills.

Working From Home... again!

At long last, I am now working from home again... and you will never really appreciate things only except when they're gone. For several months of working office-based, I did enjoy being a part of the commuting "mass" but I began to hate it after a few months of having several bad experiences on my way to work. So I resigned and left a company which doesn't pay much at all. Good riddance!

So now, here I am at the comforts of my home-- slouching on my bed wearing my PJs but still earning! And I thought it was hard to find another WFH job but I was wrong. And I think my new bosses are professionals and considerate. One down side is that I sometimes tend to slack-off and be busy with facebook (blame it on farmville!!!). But in order for me to concentrate and get back to work, I just keep reminding myself that it's hard to find good people you can work with-- paying and treats their staff well. So now, what am I still doing here? I have to W-O-R-K!

Yipee!!!

It's been awhile when I last surf the web and enjoy browsing without leaving my bed. Thanks to technology... I don't have to apply for phone line just to have an internet access at home. Since I'll be leaving the office soon, I decided to be a stay-at-home mom but then I still can't let go of my one and only hobby-- surfing the web. However, I have to be on a budget-- cut the phone lines since I don't really used it often (got my mobile plan).

I applied for Smart Bro - plan 999/month. I say it's very cheap, considering the speed I'm getting. Only had a problem with the pre-installation but then I can say I'm satisfied right now.

Jada's happy as well for she can now watch the "Wondergirls" on youtube all the time. LOL.

I've been an inconsistent blogger. My mind's not very creative lately. Blame it on stress.

I can't think straight and I am suffering insomnia again because of stress. Most often, I had to be absent from work because it's either I was not feeling well or I don't have the energy to do stuff. And I'll be resigning soon!

I'm looking forward to it. So happy that I'll be with my kiddo again -- 24/7! Though I already mentioned I'm stressed most of the time... the main reason why I don't want to go to the office everyday, why I don't want to leave this country, why I just want to stay at home most of the time-- is her. Even though her antics get into my nerves at times... still, I so lurvvv my little one.

I maybe a little bit sad because I have to leave my job... but then, I know the sacrifice is all worth it. :)

That is how busy I am. It's a bit frustrating that I've been neglecting my blog for the nth time. I envy other bloggers who still have the time to make at least a post or two despite their busy work sched. Sometimes, I just really don't know what to post. Yes! He's so great that He will not give you what you don't need. He will give you what you deserve!

I'm so happy today because I learned from my bosses that we will be going to Hong Kong for the company excursion on January! But not only that... I will also be joining them on their Costa Rica trip!!! Wow!

A few weeks ago I was praying that He will help me find a job that's gonna be sufficient for me to support my family. Another prayer I had was I hope that my former partner will come into his senses and be man enough to face his responsibilities in our family. I know that God will not grant all my prayers even though I hardly work for it. And this I learned is true! Because He grant me one wish (my job) but He help me accept the fact that I can't be with my partner because he won't make me happy.

All I can say is-- Dear Lord... thank you so much for never neglecting me and always leading me to the right path.

I can't sleep right now. My mind's a bit tired already. I'm so much of a worrier. I am thinking of him again. I'm also thinking of work and my "critics."

I don't know why I still love him. I apologize for being so stupid. I am very much jaded that I can't get over the fact that we're over years ago. And he is with another girl. Everytime I look at our kid, it is him that I see. I can truly say that it's genuine love I feel for him and our kid. However...

He doesn't love me anymore. But my heart won't stop loving him. And I know I should. I'm just stubborn. I should avoid attending their family gatherings even if they insist that we should be there. I must stop. The more I get attached to his family, the more my expectations and hopes grow. Yes, his love for our kid is there and will always be there. But his love for me ended years ago. And even if he says he'll come back to us after he fulfills his dreams... still I shouldn't hold on to that promise. A promise which he himself is not sure of. And I must stop. Wake up.

Now at work, I don't know why I keep on getting punished by some of our bitter ex-employees. As if they didn't do anything wrong. And I don't know why I can't do my job without getting criticized. And why don't they just shut-up. I worked so hard even depriving myself of rest and quality time with my kid... but they just want me down. Envy. This is the only reason why they do this. Please, just work and prove your employer that you are trustworthy. Because I have done so. That's why I am here.

Forgive me for ranting. I just need to breathe these worries out. So help me Lord.

The Weekend that Was

This weekend was one of the best weekends I had for this year. My family (my original family) got reunited again and it's as if nothing ever happened that cause everyone hurt and sadness. This one's a personal matter, but I can't contain the mixed emotions I'm havin' right now. Just to give you an overview...

I admit, I'm short-tempered (except where my family's concerned). Blame it on lack of sleep that sometimes I can't accept "petty reasons" being given. I am really friendly if I feel that a person is worthy of the 100% pure friendship I'm giving... but if you mess with me-- sorry but that's the end of the line. I don't exactly "get even" but I pray for karma with a vengeance.

I've just discovered something that made me "somehow happy"... it's the misery of a person because of the repercussions of the complications she/he gave us. There's truth to the saying that what you give is what you will indeed receive. Piece of advice to that person?.. Think!

Our Lady of Manaoag

It's 2:30 in the morning... I'm preparing on my way to Manaoag to hear mass. I've made a promise to myself that I'll go there on my 30th birthday to thank the Lord and Mother Mary for all the blessings they've given me and my family. But since my birthday fell on a Tuesday, I've got to work and postpone my trip.

I started my ocassional trips to Our Lady of Manaoag last December 2006. A week after, my wish somehow came true! And the Lord is so good to me that everytime I go there, He somehow comforts me spiritually that when I leave and go to Manila my soul is recharge again. I feel that I owe it to Him and to myself that I do this kind of spiritual trips for this bonds me to my religion.

But now here I am... going back to Pangasinan for the nth time and so excited to go there alone (yes, alone!) for this is the perfect "me" moment.

'Twas last Tuesday... another year older-- but am I a really a lil bit wiser this time?

Alright, I'm already 30 years old. I just can't imagine myself at 40s and 50s. Well, the question is will I make the right decisions for me and my daughter? Life is really complicated and so is my mind. But then again I don't want to think about the complications of life anymore. I've decided that I'll just let life think for me and I'll just do whatever I think is for the good of all.

Yep, I know I know... it has been so looong since I last updated my blog. Well, let me tell you what happened--

Ever since I got promoted, I haven't been sleeping that much. Why? Because I am so OC with my new task. I check every bit of detail my team member's submit to me so that I can correct it right away. I want everything to run smoothly. I read and read and read almost everyday until I get to learn the ins and outs of the campaign because I came from a different campaign... I don't want to give wrong info to my team members. Being a leader is a very big responsibility... and I take it seriously.

I am realllyyyy sorry for my looonnnggg time absence. ='(

After four years of working in an office-based call center... who knew that my chances of getting recognized and promoted is now?! Still a homebased worker, I'm now an assistant to the team manager! Yipee...

Although I'm still on-probation as SME (subject matter expert), I really don't mind it at all. I love the exposure. And though I was kiddingly ranting about lots of reports that I need to do everyday, I am really enjoying my job right now. Because even when I was with CVG, there's only one position I'm aiming for-- the Team Lead post.

Actually, the transition of our account from one management to another management had really been quite a shock and too instant for all of us. But with all honesty, I welcomed the change whole-heartedly because I've got a hunch that I'll be more secured working as an independent contractor with the new management who'll handle us-- which is co-owned by our account's stockholder. Isn't that great!?! Another relief is that at long last, I won't be bothered anymore working with power-trippers! Lols.

So please forgive me if I've been neglecting my blog for several days now... I miss blogging and blog-hopping so much, I just don't have spare time the past few days to do so.

I have been wearing eyeglasses since I was in grade school. Ever since then, I’ve had bought 4 pairs of eyeglasses in total and I have also tried contact lenses. But contact lenses are not for everyone, just like me because my eye dries up quickly every time I’m wearing contacts-- loosing its natural lubricant. And so, that only leaves me to be loyal to my good ol’ pair of eyeglasses.

Sometimes, it’s hard to find nice pair of eyeglasses that will both fit your eye’s needs and your pocket’s budget. Sleep Deprivation

I'm suffering from this for several days already. Well, blame it with my home setup. My daughter's so playful that whenever she saw my eyes opened, she thought I was fully-awake already and would go at my side to kiss me then sit on my tummy (ouch!). Very sweet! But then once I'm awake, I can't go back to sleep again. And most of the time, I'll only sleep for 3-4 hours. Now there are noticeable tiny red veins in the white part of my eyes.

Oh, I miss my bed most of the time especially when I'm working. Lols.

Buying Gold Coins

If I have extra money to spare, I won't buy anything like shoes or clothes. Instead, I will invest it (which is wiser, of course!)-- either on properties or buy gold coins. Buying gold coins is as good as placing money in time deposit. Aside from that, it is not hard to dispose it whenever you wanted to. A little bit of trivia, some people do not know that gold is used as the international monetary standard. That's why it's market value never depreciates. Nowadays, we have to learn to manage our finances so that we will be always ready for unexpected expenses. Better think of saving up now so that you can retire early.

Saving for my contributions

The moment I signed-up with my homebased job, I know that I'm no longer entitled with company-paid statutory benefits. Just like SSS, Pag-ibig and Philhealth. But I know I can always apply as a voluntary contributor. It is very important that we maintain these benefits because in the future when we get old and reach our retirement age, it's very helpful that we have money to expect every month from the retirement pay which we are entitled as a retired member. Unfortunately, my Christmas was not merry at all. I'm still sick (not just ill) and because of this I can't take baby Jada out to the mall. I feel so guilty. I've been neglecting my "motherly" duties for the past few weeks because of work, and now because of this illness. Argh! I really wish I get well soon enough before new year!

The only thing that kept me busy this 25th... watching Labyrinth. Happy Holidays to y'all!

It was a blast! I really had fun with my new set of friends. It was held last Dec. 8 at Jade Palace resto along Shaw Blvd., Pasig. One night, I received a text message from one of my close friends from CVG... and it was not one of the usual forwarded text. 'Twas a very bad news... One of our former teammate died of cancer. She's Gerlie, very apt name for her... an epitome of a graceful Filipina. I took this picture from one of our team building sessions. She's the one standing infront.

The news brought me goosebumps for I was really clueless that her condition was already that worse. Last time I heard about her from one of our common friend was that she's already recuperating from her last chemo-theraphy treatment. However, her cancer from her pancreas had already spread up to her brain. Everything was so sudden. She's one of the nicest person I've ever met and it's really a big lost for everyone... most especially for her family.

Wherever you may be sis', may your soul rest in peace. I know for sure you're very happy where you are right now...

Here comes Christmas time once again. My humble abode doesn't even have the spirit or ambience of Christmas yet. And I feel that I owe it to my daughter since as we all adults believe, this special season is especially for kids. My plan is to setup Christmas lights on the wall and shape it into a Christmas tree. However, I don't have time to clean the house, no time to even organize my place. I only have two days rest every week and it's either I sleep all day, run some important errands or spend some quality time with Jada. But then, enough with these excuses... At long last I was able to put my plans into action... and boy was Jada so happy to see the lights blinking when she woke up!

Waaaaa... I got the job that I wanted and I considered myself lucky for that. Oh well I spoke too soon. When I got the job offer last October, I thought the only problem I have are my computer's hard disk (which I though was busted and I consider this a minor ish) and the major one is my internet connection. My SmartBro connection is not good enough for my new work's requirement. Since April 'til now, my pending Globe broadband application is still (guess what?) an application. Unfortunately, I only have two choices with high-speed connection-- globe and PLDT. But then the previous tenants of the house we're renting right now has outstanding past due with PLDT. So that only leaves me with one choice... globe. Until I met an agent from globe and after a few weeks, he got me an available port. Done with my major problem.

Then I bought a new hard disk (again!) since I need the computer working before the broadband people installs the service. How can I test it of course, if I don't have PC. After I installed windows and tested my pc for two days, then came my internet connection. A day passed by then my computer won't start. SO what's the goddamn problem this time? Thank God one of my officemate's hubby is a hardware pro. He checked it and I what have suspected even before, I knew all along it was my motherboard. So he replaced it with a new one then before I picked it up, the processor was not working anymore! It got busted because of my mobo. So he replaced not only the mobo but as well as the processor. And now my unit's as good as knew!

Then let's go back to my internet connection. I subscribed for 2Mbps broadband package. Download is ok. Upload's a bit bad. I need to have at least 400Kbps of upload speed for our office's IT clearance. Problems... when will it ever end?!

I don't want to work at the training center on Christmas day! Huhuhu.

Alas! I'm so happy to find out that we have work on Thanksgiving... weird huh?! But I'm in dire need nowadays and resting is not going to help me with this need. New Work... again

And so... here's the job I've been waiting for-- Work From Home! The pay is compensating enough, and the account is not that toxic. You can say I'm "choosy" but I just know what my worth is. And also, with this kind of job... I can work out my other plans, like going back to school and finish my studies.

But the most important reason why I just wanted to stay at home is Jada. I just wanted to be with my daughter 24-by-7. Since I'm her only parent, I want to make sure she will grow and mature the way I wanted her to be. It's hard to be a hands-on mom if I get an office-based job. I only have one body and I can't always be with her for her needs if I'm always out.

My uncle's wife just died this Monday. Honestly, I don't feel anything for her when I learned what happened. She did something "bad" to us in the past. I have forgiven her, but I just can't forget how she treated me and my siblings during the time we needed help. It's gonna be always in my memory bank and part of the hard lesson learned.

I pray for her soul. And for my mother's soul as well. Hep, it's not what you think! My mom's still alive. However, she finds it hard to forgive my late aunt. She even uttered a few unkind words with regards to her. My brother even tried to advice her to let go of the past and just forgive her since she's already dead. I know... it's not healthy for her or for anyone to hold grudges from the past. But that's how she is, sad to say.

I know she needed help. Seriously. Now I know why she's living at the dark side of of life. I came to realize I will never be like her, don't want to be like her... I want to live peacefully. Even if life has been unkind to me most of the time, still I know that my wheel of fortune will eventually turn and luck's gonna be on my side again.

It's hard to move on... but it's much harder to move forward if you'll be carrying excess baggages as you go on the journey of life.
