First Quarter 2010

I haven't been blogging for several months now... l-a-z-y me!

A lot has happened since the last time I blogged. I got another work from home stint which is being managed by a Filipino but unfortunately, I resigned because of stress and negativity brought about by my co-worker. So much for power-trippers, please.

Then before the year ended, I found another person who made me feel special-- but then the relationship didn't last that long for it wasn't right from the very start. So much for my bruised heart... but I still I hope that someday, God will lead me to the right person at the right time.

As for the money problems I've had last year, this year my finances are well-- well in the sense that it's enough to compensate our basic needs. Not only that, I've got a good small business running.

I think the only good thing that happened at the start of this year was I was able to fulfill my plan to go out of the country with my daughter.

... hmm, so at least my first quarter wasn't that bad after all.

Pennyless

Christmas is nearing and I am so worried again with my finances.

I still haven't bought my godchildren their gifts. I don't have extra money. As of now, I am without anything at all. Blame it with my principle... I left my job recently-- I don't want to be a part of their lies. I just don't want to be fooling any one at all. That's why I left them.

Hay.

Buying Gold Coins

If I have extra money to spare, I won't buy anything like shoes or clothes. Instead, I will invest it (which is wiser, of course!)-- either on properties or buy gold coins. Buying gold coins is as good as placing money in time deposit. Aside from that, it is not hard to dispose it whenever you wanted to. A little bit of trivia, some people do not know that gold is used as the international monetary standard. That's why it's market value never depreciates. Nowadays, we have to learn to manage our finances so that we will be always ready for unexpected expenses. Better think of saving up now so that you can retire early.

Saving for my contributions

The moment I signed-up with my homebased job, I know that I'm no longer entitled with company-paid statutory benefits. Just like SSS, Pag-ibig and Philhealth. But I know I can always apply as a voluntary contributor. It is very important that we maintain these benefits because in the future when we get old and reach our retirement age, it's very helpful that we have money to expect every month from the retirement pay which we are entitled as a retired member. I've posted links for more info regarding voluntary contributions.

Health is Wealth

Finding lower hospitalization insurance is very difficult especially if you’re the only one providing for all your family member’s basic needs. But basic needs should also include saving up for your health. When we talked about basic needs, sometimes we only think about tangible things like food, shelter and clothing. I say we should include saving up for our health needs. How can you work and be productive if you’re unhealthy? Don’t wait for unexpected things to happen, such as getting ill before we realize the value of having healthcare insurance.

If purchase major medical family plans, you will be saving yourself with future major headache. Always expect the unexpected and save yourself from the trouble of spending your cash just for the hospital fees. You can save money on healthcare insurance because it is almost five times the amount you’re paying for the premium. Besides that, you need not worry of where to get cash in times of life crisis.

The Value of Security

Being a parent is a big responsibility. You must not only provide for your child’s basic needs, but you must also think of their future and be prepared for emergencies. Knock on wood—but then again, a parent must be always practical, in terms of saving and spending. And not all expenditure is a liability. Think of investing in Money Back Life Insurance. You might not see its benefits right away, but then you will get to appreciate it by the time your insurance policy matures.

At first, you might be turned-off with high insurance premiums. But there’s always an option. You can look for companies offering insurance quoting services. You can choose the amount which would best fit your budget.

So you see, saving on insurance premiums is much wiser than just putting your money in a bank. Because with insurance-- the amount of time you started with your premium is valued together with its monetary worth. The earlier you invest your money, the higher cash earnings you can get in return.

Goodbye 2007

This year had been a roller-coaster ride for me...

- been in and out of jobs

- been in and out of relationship

- been unhealthy

- been crazy and unstable

and I thought this was my year. Well, I don't want to think about the bad things that happened but I'll concentrate more on good things to come for the coming year 2008... so much for my last post-- for the year that was 2007.

Happy New Year!

Gas Credit Cards

They often say that having a credit card is a big no-no. Why? Because it tempts you from spending more than what you will earn... more than what you really have. Actually, it's more of a liability. But even if it is not practical to own one, try maintaining just a single card for special purchases. And should you decide to own just one, I suggest you get gas credit cards that will not just take money out of your pocket but also will help you save and earn even if it is just a small part of what you've spent.

Investing Wisely

Earning money nowadays is really hard, that why we should all learn where to best put our money. Most of us would only think of investing on land or acquiring a new business. However, these options will require your full attention and extensive hands-on planning. I have found out another option which is also sure good investing with. And that option is gold investing. Why? For one gold is non-depreciating. Second, if you want to dispose it-- it will just be easy. Either you have it auctioned in banks or sell it to jewellers. The international market has high demand for this so the risk is barely existing at all. The best time to invest is now.

Earning Online

Little by little, my blog is getting "productive" every week. So happy to get 2 new paid tasks from blogitive while I'm waiting to get my "reward" from payperpost. I know I still need to work hard to attract more visitors and make my page rank go up. Jeez, I have to study some more on how SEO works... but for the meantime-- I'll also work on improving my writing skills as well.

First Post for September

No time to blog at home. My PC died two weeks ago (huhu!) and my internet is already disconnected (blame it for being 3 months jobless)... but good thing, I can still visit my blog every now and then using the office PC.

The opps available in PPP are not of my interest. Even the opps from my essay job are not within my field and knowledge, too. The home based job that didn't pay me doesn't have alternative work to offer me as of now. Hayyy, no opportunities to earn extra.

I'm loving my work bit by bit everyday. The customers are not hard to deal with. The kiwi bosses are a-OK (much better than Pinoy trainors, they're lenient and straight-forward but helpful and understanding)! And just today, got to be a bit g-lish when I notice that the guy sitting beside me is "cute" (hahaha, high school!). Well, I saw him everyday but we belong to a different class. And today the trainor assigned me to take the seat beside him which is empty. He helped me, lend me his pen (uh, thank goodness I don't have one hahaha) and very friendly. But you know, being the reserved me-- I just smiled back and kept quiet (pa-cute, in other words!). Small talk. Made me conscious of my accent and my look so I hurried to the powder room. Great! Buti na lang I wear skirt. Nyahaha, crush na itoh!

Now, I'm looking forward going to work everyday. Sorry, I'm back in high school (lols).

My Annual Plan

Yes I know, it's August already and here I am-- just starting to make my life plans. Lol!

I don't know what came over me today while I was on training and we're just doing nothing. Most of the time when I'm not pre-occupied, thoughts come in out of nowhere. So going back, I found myself asking "after the chaos that happened the past few months, what's next?"

Then, the management team of our account visited our class to introduce themselves. They're going to be our bosses once we hit the floor. Hmm, I've been working in this industry for almost 4 years... I was never promoted in CVG even though I was given the chance to handle several leadership responsibilities... I applied thrice, but I just got until the final interview... maybe, I should give myself 3 months to get used to the account, 6 months to a year to be promoted as a Team Manager. This is a pioneer account, we are a pioneer batch... I should be promoted already!

I'm ambitious. I have to because my daughter is depending on me. So if I still don't get promoted here with my new employer, much as I regret to leave the country-- but I have to and I sure will-- have to go out abroad to seek for greener pasture... for me and my only family-- Jada.

With the cost of living and the current wage I'm getting, I can't turn my other "bigger" plans into reality. I've got a lot of bills to pay. I'm not ashame to admit that I'm in debt-- and I need to finish them off so that I can start anew. With two families depending on me, sometimes I have to set aside paying my other debts so that I can also provide for them... but this has to stop. Heck, they're all grown-ups! It's high time that I should only think of me and my daughter's future and nobody else.

I hope luck's on my side now-- and forever. Please...

Waiting in Vain

If there's one thing I really hate doing-- it's waiting.

Here I am, waiting for my salary... waiting for the great job opportunity (job offer)... waiting for my backpay... waiting for my other "side jobs" to release my pay... waiting for "him"... waiting for Friday to come... waiting... waiting... and endless waiting.

I'm really not good at it. And this is what God is teaching me... to learn the art of waiting. It's trying my patience. It's making me cry. But I know, this will only make me stronger.

Career's New Challenge

Yes! At long last, my new employer emailed me the project that they wanted me to do for them. If ever, it's gonna be my first ever official web design! But the biggest challenge for me is to create flash images for this website-- which is something I don't know but I promise myself, I'll do self-study. After all, some people have been able to do this just by using help articles and online tutorials. And most importantly, I need this job sooo bad!

Wish me luck!!!

Delayed Job, Unbalanced Budget

I remember posting a few threads earlier that I was supposedly to start with my new homebased job. Unfortunately, they've only informed me today that they wanted me to start not until late August or September. Wish they had advise me sooner. For I swear, this made my finances disorganized again. What is it with this month that made my wheel of fortune tilt again?!

Life is really complicated. The harder you try, the harder you suffer.
